New Hours in 2010

open signStarting January 1, 2010 the library's hours have changed:

  • Monday 9 am - 8 pm
  • Tuesday 9 am - 6 pm
  • Wednesday 9 am - 6 pm
  • Thursday closed
  • Friday 9 am - 6 pm
  • Saturday  9 am - Noon
  • Sunday closed

These will be the hours from October to April.

The library's summer hours from May through September will be Monday - Friday 10 am - 6 pm.

The changes in the hours were made for numerous reasons, the most important being fiscal. For the past few years the Library has experienced consistently low usage on Tuesday evenings and all day on Thursdays. There have been times during these hours when only one or two people are in the building.  Paying for staff and utilities during these hours is futile.  So these hours were moved to times that will be more user-friendly.

We often receive requests to open the Library earlier in the morning, so we arranged the hours so we could open every day at 9 am. On Fridays just before we close the Library is always busy; people rush in to select movies or books for the weekend.   We hope that staying open until 6 pm on Friday will relieve some of our patron’s need to rush to the Library.

We are also extending our summer hours into May and September. During those months the Library is usually quiet on Saturdays. During the months between May and September the Library will be open Monday through Friday until 6 pm so students who need Library services will be able to come to the Library every weeknight after school.

Another benefit from rearranging the hours is that they will be more consistent and easier for people to remember.

We are confident that these changes we will better serve our customers. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call us at 920-533-8534 or email director@campbellsportlibrary.org.
