Local Author - Heather Whittaker will be reading and signing her new release A Different Little Doggy at the Library on Monday, October 14th from 6 - 7 pm.
A Different Little Doggy is a children’s picture book aimed at teaching children ages 4 - 8 about diversity and the importance of tolerance and friendship through the story of Taz, a disabled Miniature Pinscher who was different than other dogs. The book is filled with colorful illustrations and a rhyming story lines that teaches kids that it is OK to be themselves.
Heather began writing in 2008 and has already completed two other books: a leadership book and a book listing 50 life lessons learned from dogs. A Different Little Doggy is her newest book of an entirely different genre.
During the free drop-in program, Heather will be reading her book, giving a short presentation about the project, and selling and signing her book. A dog themed craft will be available for the children to create and free refreshments will be served.
