Local Author, Book Signing

Local Author - Heather Whittaker will be reading and signing her new release A Different Little Doggy at the Library on Monday, October 14th from 6 - 7 pm.

A Different Little Doggy is a children’s picture book aimed at teaching children ages 4 - 8 about diversity and the importance of tolerance and friendship through the story of Taz, a disabled Miniature Pinscher who was different than other dogs.  The book is filled with colorful illustrations and a rhyming story lines that teaches kids that it is OK to be themselves.

Heather began writing in 2008 and has already completed two other books: a leadership book and a book listing 50 life lessons learned from dogs.  A Different Little Doggy is her newest book of an entirely different genre.

During the free drop-in program, Heather will be reading her book, giving a short presentation about the project, and selling and signing her book.  A dog themed craft will be available for the children to create and free refreshments will be served.
