Donated Baked Goods to Benefit Library's Summer Reading Program

The 2008 summer reading program at the Campbellsport Public Library was a great success. The Library encouraged 290 area children between the ages of 3 and 12 to read during the summer months. We also enticed 48 teens to keep reading during their vacation. These kids collectively read approximately 867,520 minutes over a seven week period.

We also encouraged families and children to spend some time at the Library by hosting programs in June and July. The 14 planned events attracted 991 people.

The theme for 2009 summer reading program is "Be Creative @ Your Library". Preparations are already underway to make next summer’s programming exciting for children of all ages

The summer reading activities, special performers and reading incentives are all paid for by donations from local business, individual library supporters and through the Library’s Election Day bake sales.

The Library will be holding an Election Day Bake Sale on September 9, 2008 from 7 am until 8 pm. We are asking people to donate baked goods for the sale. Donors can drop off wrapped and ready to sell bakery at the Library on Monday, September 8 between noon and 8 pm or early Tuesday morning. Pricing of the baked goods will be done the day of the sale.

If you listen to audio books, we have the perfect thing for you — our library is now providing access to the OverDrive Digital Audio Book collection!

You can download audiobooks to your PC and listen to them on your computer, transfer them to a digital audio player, PDA, or other portable device, or burn them to a CD.

It’s easy! Just click on this link for digital audio books, choose one of the great titles available, download and listen. Search for your favorite book titles or browse through topics of interest. Choose from over 500 fiction and non-fiction titles, anytime day or night.

Downloading the free and easy to use OverDrive Media Console software allows you to listen to audio books in high-quality Windows Media Audio format on any Windows computer. If your PC already has Windows Media Player installed, the Console works hand-in-hand with WMP to give you added functionality to transfer your audio books to supported portable devices.

Access to Overdrive Digital Audio Books is made possible by funding from the Winnefox Library System and the Wisconsin Public Library Consortium.

The Campbellsport Public Library exists to serve its community. Its primary function is to select, organize, preserve and make freely available to everyone in its service area materials that will assist its users in fulfilling their educational, informational, cultural and recreational needs.

Free Wireless Internet Access Available at the Library

The Campbellsport Public Library offers wireless connections to the library's Internet service. Bring in your laptop computer to take advantage of this free service.

• Internet access is provided via 802.11g wireless access points.
• Compatable with 802.11b and 802.11g network cards.
• Your laptop must be configured to use DHCP; instructions are available to reset your laptop to use DHCP.
• Beyond providing basic instructions, library staff cannot assist you with configuring your laptop or to troubleshoot individual problems. Ask at our circulation desk to receive instructions.

We also offer free Internet access at a number of publicly-accessible computers in the library.
