A library card can be blocked for a few reasons. Patrons are unable to use their library cards if they have more than $5 in fines. Fines can be paid on-line by going to your library account or they can be paid at any participating Winnefox Library (the Fond du Lac Public Library does not participate in the Winnefox Automated Card Catalog). Cards my also be blocked if your card needs renewing. Every library user’s card expires once a year. In order to update the card a library staff member simply needs to verify your telephone number and address. Updating a card is a very quick process and can be done at the circulation counter or over the phone. Any participating Winnefox Library can update a patron’s card.

All library items are checked out at the front desk. If you have items from other libraries waiting for you, they can be picked up at the front desk.

All items can be renewed for one additional check-out period if no other library patron is waiting for that item. Renewals can be done online, over the phone, or at the front desk. If you are renewing items during your next library visit, it is not necessary to bring the item you are renewing with you.

New Release Adult Fiction and Non-Fiction Books can be checked out for 14 days.

All other books, magazines, audio books, and music CDs can be checked out for 21 days.

There is no limit as to how many of these items one person can have checked out at one time.

All DVDs check out for 7 days. Patrons are limited to borrowing 7 DVDs at one time.

All items can be renewed once for the same amount of time as the original check-out period if no other patron is waiting for that item.

Next to your library card number, type in your PIN. The PIN is the last four digits of your phone number. Next choose either First Available Copy or Specific Copy. After you click on one of the previous options you will be asked to re-enter your PIN. A Submit Hold screen will appear. Check to see that Campbellsport is the pickup location. If this is correct, click on the words Submit Hold. You will receive a notice by phone or e-mail when the item arrives at the library for you.

If a book is lost or damaged the patron is responsible for the cost of the item, a processing fee, and any fines. The standard processing fee is $2 per book or $5 per DVD or CD. At the time of payment for a lost item, a receipt will be given. If the item is returned in good condition with the receipt before the end of three months, the cost of the item will be refunded to the patron. The processing fee will not be refunded.

Non-returned items: Patrons will receive notices by email, mail, or telephone warning them that they have overdue library material. If overdue library material is not returned 30 days beyond their due date, they will be billed for the item. The bill for items not returned normally includes a standard replacement fee generated by the circulation system. Staff will adjust the standard replacement fee, either up or down, for items that are available for purchase.

If the item is not returned or paid for within the 30 days after the due date the Library will then notify the offending patron through certified mail that they have an additional 15 days to return the library items in good condition or pay for the unreturned items. This letter of warning will also inform the patron that if the matter is not resolved in the allotted time period the library will then choose to have the police retrieve the items and/or request that the Police Department issue a citation for the cost of the items, payment of fines, and reimbursement of the cost to mail the certified letter plus a court fee as listed under State Statue 943.61.

If you have lost or damaged a library item please talk to a staff member right away. It is common for items to get lost or damaged and the staff members are more than happy to help you with the problem.
